Things to consider while designing a custom piece:

Selecting Photos: Try to select photos that are clear and sharp. For transparent pieces, the outcome will vary so more contrast in a photo works better (stay away from gray photos). YOU MAY SEND A PHOTO VIA EMAIL OR REGULAR MAIL AND WE WILL SIZE IT FOR YOU OURSELVES. We always return original artwork. Michelle is happy to work with you to create a most treasured piece.

Deciding whether to choose solid or transparent (see sizing page for explanation). Solid pendants are more like actual photos and are mostly used for images of children and family. Transparent pieces have a more abstract and mystical quality to them. These are often made of heirloom or vintage photographs or of a loved one that is no longer with you. These pieces show up best on bare skin or a white t-shirt.

Sending Your Photos: Before sending, be sure to protect your photos by surrounding them with sturdy cardboard. Also label your photo properly on the back.

Color or Black and White: You may choose color or black and white. We can change color photos to black and white if you prefer. Black and white photos may be changed to sepia (warm brown) but NOT TO COLOR.

Cropping: BE FLEXIBLE. If you are very set on a particular area of a photo, make it clear. Let Michelle make recommendations and assist you in creating the most impact!

Note: Since all of our work is hand-made, please expect some irregularities in the shade and shape of the soldered pieces. This adds character to your handmade artisan piece.

Turnaround: Upon receipt of your photos, payment, and order form, please allow 15 business days exluding shipping time (20 days during major holidays).

Payment: Since each order is unique and custom designed, payment in full is required with your order. Please make your check or money order payable to La Picosa.

Returns: Because our personalized jewelry is entirely custom, we cannot honor any returns.
